If our pool edge lines up with our patio roof, will rooftop gutters prevent rain runoff (and typical debris) from falling into pool?

We've got a small yard to work with and have designed a pool where the interior edge lines up with the roof of our patio.

My question is, will we regret having the pool that close to the roof or should gutters suffice?

We don't have any trees in our back yard, so any rooftop debris should be pretty minimal.

You should have no roof runoff with properly installed gutters.
Until you get a big storm that overwhelms the gutters. Then it can funnel even more water into the pool causing an overflow.

Install an overflow drain in the pool that is well thought out as to the normal water level versus an overflow.

With it only being a patio roof, so long as it's not taking water from elsewhere, I doubt the gutter will overflow. But as Allen said, even if it does, a pool overflow going to a proper outflow area, will take care of any unforeseen overflows.
