We bought a house with a pool and I would like to automated it. Here are some specs and what my goal is. Any recommendations would be greatly apricated. I am new to this and do not know the landscape.

We own a 30x15 in ground pool. It has a Pentair STA-Right IntelliPro Variable Speed Pump. With a built in RS-485 port that works with EasyTouch, IntelliTouch and SunTouch. We have 7 solar panels on the roof with a switch that lets you use the panels or not. We also have a Built Right new pool heater that has a 2-Wire interface to most automation systems. There is also a single pool light in the pool.

My goal would be to have an automated system that determines if it is cloudy or cold it bypasses the solar panels. If it is sunny and hot it uses both the pool heater and solar to heat.

I am also looking for a system I can control with a phone app. Set heat temp, check the status of the variable speed pump, turn the pool light on and off. The goal would be not to have install sensors. The heat of the pool is read from the heater 2-Wire Interface, the heat of the solar panels could be read by the 2-Wire interface when the heater is off and the pump is on. The outside temp, and level of sun can be read from an internet weather service.

Why the resistance to installing sensors? You can get 10k sensors for about $10 a sensor and the installation is very simple. Read through the following and you will see how the water temp is accomplished for solar a 10k sensor next to the panels on the roof will control the on/off times to maintain a temperature for your pool. The description of the controller listed performs all the functions you are looking for.
