IC40 with Intelliflo3 with relay board?

Hey all - i just moved into a home with old jandy equipment that was dying and replaced it with new pentair stuff. I got the intelliflo3 pump with relay control board. Does that mean i can just buy the IC40 itself and it gets wired directly to the relay board on my pump for control. So i dont need to buy a load center to power it or anyting else to control it? I'm seeing somewhat contradicting info about how that works.

Not,

That is 'not' at all how it works...

You need to wire the AC power to the load center through the relay on the relay card.. This just keeps the Power Center from getting AC power unless the pump is running.

You have to set the relay up in the app to be "Speed enabled"..

Got it - So i still need a power center and the relay just controls its power on an off by speed. There seem to be power centers for 100 on amazon that claim they work with ic40, which is way less than the pentair one. Any advice on 3rd party power centers?

I have not had any experience with them... But, I suspect they will work just fine..

$100 seems pretty cheap... are you sure that is not just the circuit card without the housing and transformer???

Yeah, there is some real cheap stuff from overseas being sold on Amazon.

Only time will tell how it holds up.
