So, I took the plunge and installed an IC40 and Intellichlor power center today. The plumbing part went well. The Power Center is connected to the J20 comport with 22/4, and the high voltage is wired for 230V. I also have an Interflo VS and ScreenLogic transceiver connected to the same J20 comport.
When I connected the IC40 unit to the power center and turned on the pump, the cell did not power up. I replaced the 10A fuse, but nothing changed. The multimeter reads 16v between the red and black wires on the PowerCenter.
I also noticed that the screen logic antenna stopped working. I can log into the app but cannot turn on anything from the app. The power LED on the antenna board is lit, but TX , RX does not come on.
The Intelliflo VS pump shows "display not active", and I can control if from the ET8 panel.
I am assuming the following fails:
1. New Board on Powecenter is DOA
2. I shorted the green and yellow on J20 that fried the comport and now need to replace the board
3. The SL antenna board is bad

I would start by disconnecting the IntelliChlor from the EasyTouch at J20.

See if the cell powers and operates standalone. And see if Screenlogic starts operating.

You should connect only the yellow/green wires from the IntelliChlor to the EasyTouch. Not the red/black.

2,

Did you wire the power center to the load side of the pump/filter relay?

The Surge card inside the power center should get about 20 volts AC from the transformer and then send about 30 to 40 volts DC to the cell.

I suggest that you connect just the IntelliFlo to the J20 com port and see if the pump can be controlled by the EasyTouch. If you can control the pump from the EasyTouch, then your main card is good.. If you can control just the pump, then add just one RS-485 device at a time to the com port.. I suspect that one of them is bad or mis-wired. One bad device can shut off the whole com port.

Note... My system came with internal SWCG system installed.. It has a 4-wire connection between the J20 and the surge card, and a 4 wire connection between the Surge card and the cell..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Thank you for the suggestions. Here is what I have done so far.
1. Checked and confirmed that none of the low-voltage breakers tripped.
2. Checked and confirmed that the Intelliflow Power Center high-voltage wires are connected to the load side first relay, and the black and violet are connected. My Supply is 230V.
3. Disconnected the IntelliChlor, leaving the ScreenLogic (RYGB) and The Pump wires (YG) Connected to J20. The pump can be operated from the panel, but ScreenLogic does not work.
4. Disconnected all but the two wires (GY) from the IntelliFloVS pump to J20. I confirmed that I can operate the pump from the panel.

Based on the above, is it possible to say that my main ET8 Board is not faulty? I am dreading another $800 at the beginning of the month!

@ajw22 mentioned, "See if the cell powers and operates standalone.". How do I do that? I followed the installation manual to connect the RYGB from the PowerCenter to the J20 RYGB.

2,

When the EasyTouch is controlling the IntelliFlo VS pump, the pump's display should show "Display not Active"..

It sounds to me like your main card is working fine. I suspect that the problem is your ScreenLogic outside antenna.

Show us several pics of the inside of your EasyTouch showing the relays, breakers and wiring..

In theory the relay in the upper left is the pump/filter relay. Some times idiot installers use a different relay as the Pump/Filter relay. So, you might want to make sure that the coil cable from the relay in the upper left is actually plugged into the P/F relay port on the main card.

If things were working before and after you installed the SWCG, they are not, then most likely it is something that you did..

Just to be clear on how things should work.. Your salt cell should have no lights (or electrical power) unless you are in AUTO and in the Pool or Spa mode.

Thanks,

Jim R.

I took some close-ups and traced the lines. The First Relay (Relay-1) seems to be connected to the Heater and Relay-2 Connected to the IF-VS Pump. The Pump was installed a few years back and it was never clear why it was wired that way. I press the Aux 7 button to turn on the High-Flow on the pump. Relay-1 : is also connected to J9 and Relay-2 is connected to J8.EasyTouch Wiring Close up.jpgEasytouch_Wiring.jpeg

Swap J8 and J9.

Relay1 needs to be connected to J8 Filter Pump socket.

Relay2 does nothing since the pump wires are connected to the LINE screws.

That is why your SWG is not lighting up.

2,

In your pic you show... "Black Red to IntelliChem Power Center"..

Do you actually have an IntelliChem??? Or do you have an IntelliChlor IC40... or do you have both.. the IntelliChem and an IntelliChlor..

Thanks,

Jim R.
