Hi Allen, Jim,
Something is off... Two nights ago I heard the pump at high revs so I went to check and found that the Easy Touch was set to off (it wouldn't have anything running, as in the first picture below), but the pump was running at high revs. The IC-40 was off because the ET indicated nothing running. I have it programmed 24/7, so I thought it was a loose connection. I opened it and the small green wire was a bit loose. Then I asked about the Comm Port Expansion, but I found these two devices in one of my toolboxes that made the job. Today same thing happened, for some reason the ET turned off the schedule but the pump kept going. I turned the Filter/Pump button that turns on the pump and it kept going. Then I turned the same Filter/Pump button off and the pump also kept going, when it should have stopped.
This is the picture of the screen with the "filter/pump" off, like this the pump should not be going, but it does:
This is a picture of the IC connections to the ET. I didn't have yellow/green, I used red and black. It's the two coming from the grey wire.
And this shows the other end of these wires, in the IC-40 control center, to show that they connect to the correct place:
So it seems to have 2 problems:
1. ET stops schedules at random times. Every day they stop at different times, and there haven't been any power outages. I don't have Intellicenter, but these are the schedules I have programmed:
SPA: 1/1
Mode: Egg Timer
Time: 04:00
POOL: 1/1 -
This one is low revs (1700)
Mode: Schedule
04:00P - 08:00A
SMTWTFS (all selected)
SPA LIGHT 1/1
Mode: Schedule
04:00P - 11:00P
SMTWTFS (all selected) SS: Y
POOL LIGHT 1/1
Mode: Schedule
04:00P - 11:00P
SMTWTFS (all selected) SS: Y
POOL HIGH: 1/1 -
This one is mid revs (2800)
MODE: Schedule
08:00A - 04:00P
SMTWTFS (all selected)
AUX 4 1/1
(Spillway)
Mode: Schedule
04:00P - 07:00P
SMTWTFS (all selected)
No more schedules. If I keep pressing the down arrow it goes back to the SPA schedule.
2. Pump operating while ET doesn't have it on. Sometimes it works and I can hear it at low revs, other times I can hear at medium revs, but other times it is completely disobedient and it will run at high revs regardless of the ET having it on or off and at which rev settings.
As a note, the pump screen shows the "Display not active" message always that the ET is on, regardless of whether the pump should be on or off. I believe that's correct. If I go to "Service" mode then I can turn the pump on/off and change settings, etc.
Any clue what the problem might be? Everything seems well connected and correctly scheduled. I can't understand why these two irregularities are happening. Maybe after connecting the pump to the line side of the relay I had to change a setting? But then why would the schedules stop working randomly half way through?
Thanks!
Roger
