iAqualink randomly turning on heater after losing wi-fi connection.

I have a very strange and intermittent issue with my iAqualink. We added a Raypak heatpump this fall and, on several occasions, I've come home or pulled up the app and seen the pool temperature up higher than I set it and the heater running, despite showing it being off in the iAqualink app, on the website and on the control panel. Tuning the heater on and off from any of my iAqualink control options has no effect. The heater just keeps running. The temp gauges are accurate on the heater as well *** the one installed for the controller. There are no errors being thrown. I even had the jandy folks log into my system one time when it was acting up. They couldn't find the problem. It is not losing all communications with the heater. What's interesting is, when it is on and running by itself, if I raise the temp setting in iAqualink to a temp higher than the current water temp, it shuts the heater off for just a second, then turns it back on and behaves normally once I lower the set temperature. After that, I'm good until it decides to act up again. It's annoying because I never know when it's going to decide to start heating, which can get pretty expensive if you're not paying attention.

The ONLY thing I believe I can possibly point to is my web and wifi connection, and the result on iAqualink and/or the controller. I have very unreliable internet service and get notifications whenever my security cameras go offline. Perhaps it is coincidence, but on days where I get several of these wifi outage notifications, I come home and the heatpump is running (despite being turned off in app, etc.). Unfortunately, I have not been able to replicate the issue on my own. Tried a few times killing wi-fi and seeing if heater would come on but no such luck. I do not have an other controls beyond iAqualink. No remotes, no spa-side controls, no unit inside the house.

Has anyone experienced something like this? I'd really like to get to the bottom of it. The folks at Zodiac were very nice but are scratching their heads, too.

Thanks in advance.

Updating for the benefits of the archive. I figured out the problem. Stupid me had at one time set a schedule to turn the heater on at 1pm one day that I knew I was going to want to use the pool that afternoon. I somehow overlooked this when I was checking schedules during my troubleshooting. Even the Jandy/Zodiac tech support missed this. The interesting part, what caused the issue, is the timer was set to turn on and off at the same time. 1pm on, 1pm off. This is what threw the communication out of whack. I called Jandy back to tell them I found the problem and recommended they program the software to NOT allow any schedule to come on and off at the exact same time. They were appreciative and said they would pass this to their developers. Anyways, hope this helps someone. Never underestimate your own stupidity. User error can get the best of us!
