iAqualink Nightmare! Constant refresh on Web interface

Hey guys, so my buddy has an iAqualink panel and we installed a Pendair Intelliflo VS to replace the pump... We did program the pump in the iAqualink web app and set it as our filter pump.. Everything was working right, however when we changed the schedule then the web app would no longer work as it should, everytime we open the web app it would load the buttons and go back to "waiting for connection" in an endless loop.... I am able to control the equipment on the regular iAqualink app but not the Web due to the issue above...

Any ideas? Jandy support is worthless, they cannot send any "clear" memory command....

It looks like the firmware version is "1.5 PDA". Unless something has changed recently, the PDA firmware does not "support" using the web interface. The firmware should be something like "1.5 RS".

Why this randomly worked for some period of time.. that I dunno. Have you tried other browsers or a different PC? Do you have the "Web" button in the iAqualink mobile app? On PDA firmware it shouldn't be there.

ok so from what I have read, it looks like i have a 50 pin board and I can change to a 50 pin RS board to do the iAqualink upgrade, is that correct?

Yes, this will work. If you remove the "MCU board" and replace it with one having conventional firmware, you will effectively make the "PDA" system a standard RS system. This is how my setup is today. All I did was buy a used MCU board off eBay with recent firmware and swapped them on the PCB. I don't see any for sale right now, but they do pop up from time to time.

That is great to hear! Do you know if there are any differences in the RS boards revisions? B0029221 REV T / T1 / T2?

I upgraded my old PDA version of jandy rs4 to the iq30. It works amazing.
So I had an old system Aqualink with PDA and contacted Jandy because my pump would not turn on anymore and they informed me that the only upgrade possible to do would be the IQ-30 RS, which I purchased and installed.

Jandy used to have release notes, but they've hidden them away and even with access to installer documentation I can't find them. Not to mention dealing with Fluidra is like talking to a wall.

That being said, T.2. was a major release for a long time. Current appears to be Y. In the absence of release notes, it does appear that most of the changes between T.2. and Y pertain to multiple VSP addressing (Jandy changed the scheme from using dip switches to actually broadcasting a hardware ID over RS-485; I believe this is only an issue if you exceed 4 pumps), LED addressing, and some other general housekeeping.

Conversely, if you're willing to spend the money, you can just buy the iQ-30 RS kit that James is suggesting and that will "just work". You could then sell your old board on FB Marketplace or eBay or something.

Best answer we have is in Jandy Aqualink RS - Further Reading

You want Rev R or better for iAqualink support…

  • 2012- Rev R = internet control of Jandy Aqualink system via smartphone or web
  • 2013 - Rev. T.2
  • ???? = Rev V = Rev V and earlier, manufactured prior to mid-year 2022, support up to 4 variable-speed pumps using Dip Switches 3-4 on the pump.
  • 2022 - Rev W = Aqua-link RS systems using Rev W and later, manufactured after mid-year 2022, support up to 16 variable-speed pumps that utilize a preassigned PUMP ADDRESS.
  • ???? - Rev Xg - unknown
  • ???? - Rev Y = Jandy Infinite WaterColors LED Light Controller requires Aqualink Revision Y or later.
  • 2024 - Rev Yg = Jandy added the ability to have 24 virtual auxiliary assignments.
