I was sent Jandy 460 cartridge filters instead of 340 - can I use the 460 without causing harm?

A while back I ordered a set of Jandy 340 cartridge filters, so I thought anyway. I didn't think to open the boxes when they arrived (my mistake) to check. Today I decide to swap out the filters and discover I was sent the 460 size filters instead. The 460 are the same dimensions as the 340 but have a greater filtration area. What issues could I expect to run into if I install these 460 filters? Would that place stress on the pump?

The 340s are correct for my pool system but I am hoping I can get away with using the 460s, at least until I can get a new set of 340s.

I would put it in and see what your filter pressure is.

Your 2.7 HP pump should be able to handle the additional filter area without any problem.

Aaron,

The bigger filter, the less filter pressure you will have.. And, that is a good thing.

As long as they fit inside the filter housing, I would use the larger cartridges..

I can't see any down side.

Thanks,

Jim R.
