I need a quick response please!!

Correct. 6.8 is the bottom of the range. Depending how much acid they added it could have lowered TA to 0 leaving ph somewhere in the 4s. We must know a TA number to properly advise.

oh my word!!!vacuumed pool and tested chemicals....now i really need help!!!
chlorine drop test barely turned pink so I used the k-1000 kit with the five drops. And it is showing I have a total chlorine of 1!!! How did that even happen? For weeks now I add chlorine to get my numbers up to FC of 7 and at the end of the day, before I add bleach again, it only ever drops to 4.5 or 5!!!

CH 250
TA 30 (last week it was 70)
CYA 40
PH 6.8

we have a pool party tomorrow night!!!!! Help!!!!

Add bleach.

You may want to add Baking soda to get your TA up to 50 or 60. You pH will rise a bit with that and with aeration.

Use PoolMath.

You should be OK for the party tomorrow, but correct this tonight.

I would bump the FC up near shock level and let it drip down just to head off anything and that may have started when your FC drop too low. It is safe to swim up to the shock level FC so no concerns there.

30 minutes is fine.

Fell asleep last night so checked this morning.

So remember last night results were
chlorine 1
pH 6.8
TA 30
CH 250
CYA 40
added 242mL of 8% bleach and 192 oz baking soda

results this morning are
FC 2.5. I plugged in numbers to pool math to get to 7 so why did it only get to 2.5??
CC 6 ( I have never had CC )
PH now 7.5
TA now 70

so ph and TA are in range but what happened to FC and cc??!! How do I fix?? Remember the pool party tonight!!

edited to add: when they worked on pebble not only did they add muriatic acid but also a bunch of stain and scale remover from a white tub....probably should have mentioned that!

Either way you need chlorine. Both Jason and Richard in previous posts suggest getting your FC to shock level now. That should help clear up whatever is there.

As recommended, you need to get your FC to shock level, the sooner the better.
You most likely already have the beginnings of an algae bloom, as shown by the cloudy water. It is very doubtful that this will completely clear up today, so don't be upset if the pool remains a bit cloudy.

Ok, added all the bleach, waited 30 minutes and restested and FC is 17....it needed to be 16 to shock for my CYA of 40. So, now that that's taken care of....what's next?!

The most important part, maintain that FC. If you still plan to use the pool, try to keep FC at 12-14ppm for your guests. As soon as they are out of the pool for the evening, get right back up to 16-18ppm.
