thank you very much. Glad you are enjoying it.

Your site continues to evolve very nicely. Glad to be able to set the custom days for reminders, very nice addition. Thanks for making it easier to use and more powerful. Just this week I discovered and used the Quick Calculator by clicking on the "FC", I had not found that, but very nice to have.

A small request for that quick calculator is to not only have your Target chlorine as an input, but also have an input for what you are going to use to adjust it with. It could default to what is in settings, but would be nice to adjust the input there on the quick calculator on the fly for just that calculation. This is a very very small thing I got around very easily by changing a default and saving, then setting it back, but here is why it would be nice. On a daily basis, no need to change that parameter, just use the default, but I was out of town last week and came back to algae so I went in to slam mode - I wanted to raise chlorine to 12 or more, but also wanted to do it with some Cal-Hypo 73% I had rather than the 8.25% chlorine bleach I typically use. The quick calculator only tells me how much liquid chlorine to add - I had to change my default to the Cal-Hypo and calculate then set it back to the chlorine. Again - this was such a small thing and easy to get around, but it's just a small add on some day when you run out of big things to add.

Thanks again for the tool.

good idea. Easy enough to implement. I have some other things to get to first but I'll add it to the list.

Russel,

Started using the Poollogger again (pool got warm enough to swim) and loving the upgrades. Love being able to place in my own FC goal. Only change there would be to let us also type in a new default range if we wanted one. For instance if you had a CYA of 50, Pool school yields a target FC of 6 to 8. I can only type in a goal of one number, not a range.

Being able to track multiple pools would be great.

And finally being able to download all my entries in a single button push (rather than having to download them one line at a time) so that I can do my own trend analysis and charts.

BTW...great work!

Duly noted on all the requests above. I just built the back end to support setting filter pressure, last cleaned and backwashed and clean percentage increase notification. plus SWG cell inspection check. Hopefully will have time to implement soon.

Hi Russell,

I'm new to TFP, and also just in the process of starting my pool build,(still in the permit process), but after reading everything that Pool Logger can do, and the enhancements you have planned, I am no longer intimidated to manage my pool. I think this will be invaluable to anyone that needs to manage pool chemistry. As soon as I get my TF-100 kit, I will be registering and donating to the cause. Thank you very much and keep up the good work.

Thinking about putting a filter pressure gauge under the tests on the main page...will look like this. You can set the red zone and the green line is clean pressure. As you check and record pressure the needle will change.

Very cool!

Nice! Right now I just put it in the notes section. Any chance of making this a full on smartphone app?

I'm not sure yet. Right now I can develop so rapidly that I don't want to mess with App store submissions etc. It would just get in the way. Maybe at some point. But with the web app I can allow for importing and exporting from other data sources etc that usually isn't easy to do with smart phones, especially iOS.

I made some slight changes (Thanks Holydoc) to the FC calcs for those of you using bleach. SWG people wont notice a difference. I think when I made the app originally the recommended FC targets were not a range of values but a single value. Along the way, the fine people at TFP changed it to a small range. So I updated the Pool Logger to use this range. If you do not have your own target set, it will default to the middle of the range and give you messages about the range now. Hope it works for you, let me know if there are any problems.

Also, I have lots of other stuff working in the background, including SMS alerts, but I have lots more testing to do before I release it.

Russell,

You know I like the change. ;) Your new changes has allowed me to make this logger my primary system for tracking my pool maintenance. Thank you so much.

Now if you can make it so that I can enter in multiple pools and switch between the two, that would be another welcome change. :)

Settings update - I have not built out the display and tracking functionality yet but some new settings to consider:

Clean Filter Pressure
Pressure Increase Warning (%)
Last Cleaned Filter Date
Last Backwashed Filter Date
Last Cleaned SWG
SWG Clean Reminder (in Days)

Next up: Building out a way to track maintenance items such as current filter pressure, SWG % and filter run time. Then I will modify the main page to give you your filter gauge display and pump/SWG stats.

Thanks for the suggestions and the patience!

Well, it might be a reach because there are not many of us, but it would be nice to be able to track how many gallons of chlorine are added to my Liquidator tank. As an example I typically added two or three gallons two or three time a week, so maybe something that track how many gallons or (ounces) added on a date and what strength.

You can do that in the add chemicals feature if you want. But im not sure that makes complete sense.

Laprjns,

I was going to say the same thing. By using the "Add Chemical" feature, you should be able to add the amount and strength of your chlorine. I use this feature to determine how much chemicals are costing me per year so that I can be sure to budget it. It is interesting to see how the chemicals shoot up as the Summer gets nearer.
