I got the test kit.. now when do I test?

Hello guys,

I just got the TF100 test kit and been reading up on how to use it. I saw it says in the evening but my question is, do I have to test with the pump on or off?

Typically, you want the pump to be on to ensure good circulation so that the test sample is an accurate representation of the general pool water.

This is especially true after rains etc.

From my experience, it’s best to run the pump for 30 minutes before testing to make sure the water’s properly mixed.

With the above posts in mind. Time of day doesn’t really matter. You do want good light. You also want to be consistent. Test after adding chems to see if you hit the expected result.

Once you’ve learned your pool and your chlorine, muriatic acid additions, to expected results, you’ll have a great idea of when to test.
