I bought Culligan brand salt at Costco which stated it is 99.6% pure. I dumped a 50 lb bag my 13,000 gallon pool and to my horror as I was getting ready to add a second bag i noticed in the corner it says "with sofner gard II" I did a Google search to see if I could find an MSDS sheet for what is in "sofner gard II" but could not find anything. Does anyone know what is in it, is it a small enough about I can not worry about it or am I about to drain and fill again?
I accidentally added1 bag of non 100% salt, am I screwed?

Might be potassium chloride. You are likely fine...I wouldn't use more.

Water Softening Salt may contain Sodium Hexametaphosphate (SHMP) which improves resistance to mushing and bridging.
SHMP is GRAS (generally recognized as safe) by the US Food and Drug Administration.
They would not put anything in water softener salt that would be dangerous to people.

I've seen this chemical in some water softener salt and some multi-component pool sanitizing products. It appears to be some sort of clarifier or sequestrant that plays some role in calcium reduction. I'm not planning to add it to my pool, but I'm curious what would happen if this did find...
