Hi there, I hope this is the right forum.

So Hurricane Helene flooded me with 3' of salt water (mixed in with sewer water, yuck). She did me the favor of a water change in my pool (34,000gal in ground, salt pool with cartridge filter, jandy pump, hayward chlorine).

I did a water replacement in place 3 days after the storm, I put a pump in the deep end (3/4 hp) and my garden hose in the shallow end, ran that for 3-4 days. I am guessing I got 60-75% of the water exchanged. this was about 5 weeks ago. in between I've been tossing in chlorine tabs, stabilizer, and a total of about 7 gallons of acid in the interim, and ran that same pump from the deep end to the shallow end to try to get some mixing. I also daily went out there with the rake and raked the bottom of the pool 6-7 times, even though I couldnt see what I was raking. by the end I was pulling up some leaves but not a lot.

Finally got my pump replaced today, and it is now running. current salt level is 1300 ppm. but I am still getting that nasty smell from the pool. I will be shocking it tomorrow.

Is there anything else I should be doing at this point to clean it up?

Be sure to follow the SLAM Process page carefully. That's your best option right now. Give it time and follow that page and you should do well.

Worked for me, but here's another link.
