I need a suggestion of how to fix this. I have an above ground pool. It just got a tear at the bottom, but on the side where seam connects the bottom with the side of the pool. It is a circular intex pool. The tear is about 6-8in in length. I have the patch kits, but my problem is how do I pull the seam together so that it will stayed glued? Can I use duct tape or the water proofing tape to pull the seam together and then put vinyl patch or two on it or will the tape cause a problem? Thanks! No extra vinyl is missing from the tear and fits together nicely just can't hold it together.

I hate to say this, but that is a pretty serious tear in a bad spot. I would worry about any kind of patch job holding up.
I would replace the liner.
