Hp1100 pool heater turns on no instructions

60 gpm = 3,600 gallons per hour or 30,000 lbs per hour.

If the heat pump puts out X btu/hr, then the expected temp rise is X/30,000.

Y = X/30,000

X = 30,000 Y.

Y = Temp rise.

X = BTU/Hr.

Y = Temp after heater - temp before heater.

For example, if the temp before the heater is 80 and the temp after the heater is 83.3, then the heater is producing about 100,000 btu/hr.

(83.3 - 80)30,000 = 99,000 btu/hr.

Thanks James all makes sense. I think my heater isn’t giving any hot water out at all as when the pool guy put the Freon in a could feel the hot water going into the pool now nothing and not even any water below the unit. If the fan is running but not heating I was going to take a guess and change the capacitor which is pretty rusted.

No on the video you sent me it was shot. With mine working then stopping but the fan running I may just switch the capacitor for 12$ and see if the ac guy can come back as it only ran for one day

Ok and it continues the pool ac guy came back and told me it’s a “Locked compressor motor added a hard start didn’t help “

And tried to sell me a new unit, I was going to get a new capacitor just to check below or should I over size as the capacitor in there is all rusted

The unit I have is older than this unit, I just gave my guy 600$ for Freon hoping he will come back and give it the once over as it ran for 1 day
Exactly why many techs will not work on older units.

They do the work and then it does not work and you expect them to come back for free and keep working on it.

Some customers even refuse to pay if they do not pay immediately based on the heater not working.
