I have been unable to find someone who is willing to fix my Hayward 140,000 BTU Heat Pump. The heat exchanger pvc element cracked during the 2021 texas freeze, everybody tells me to get a new heat pump. But the part exists and nobody wants to replce it and fix it in San Antonio, Texas. Does anybody know someone who would. Thanks

Two reasons you are having a hard time finding someone to replace the heat exchanger.
First, it is a lot of labor with the guts of the HP needing to be taken a part.
Secondly, that person needs to have an EPA Section 608 and 609 certifications to handle the refrigerant. That eliminates you general handyman.
In addition they will likely be reluctant to give any warranty on their work.
Given the parts and labor cost will exceed over 50% of the cost of a new HP it is best for you to get a new HP that is fully warranted.
