When we opened the pool for the summer, we discovered that twenty or so tiles had come loose over the winter. They are intact but need to be replaced. My husband has DIY experience with floor tiling so we were hoping this is something we could do ourselves. Could you please advise on the process and products we should use. I've attached some pictures. The tiles are above the water line on a slope. Some of the material under the tiles has been chipping off as well. I'm guessing we will need to build up a flat surface before we begin. Thoughts?

There is really no reason not to use a decent (latex fortified) grout and thinset from HD/Lowe's......it does not need to be pool specific.

If you have specific questions related to tile, you might try the John Bridge Tile Forums. You can ask anything about tile installation, including pool related tile setting and get answers until you turn blue.
Thank you again for the tile forum recommendation. If anyone is curious, here is what the response was:
On a cloudy day where the surface temps are below 90ºF;
1- Remove any loose material
1B- remove any old thinset on the back of the tiles
2- Remove enough old thinset to allow replacement thinset
3- Set tiles with Laticrete 254 (yes buy a whole, new bag)
4- Grout the next day.
If the joints are 1/8 inch or wider, any sanded grout will work just fine.
Do your best to keep it dry for a few days. This will be printed on the bag of whatever brand you purchase. Be aware of temperatures as well. I'd be tempted to cover it with sheet plastic if the sun were strong.
