Hi all,
Though my TF Test Kit came with plenty of reagents, I'm left with about a quarter of my CYA reagent (R0013). I used more because I had a hard time figuring out the reading until someone here explained it to me. So, is it possible to order a refill of that or do I need to order a full kit's worth of reagents?

All the individual reagents (including R-0013) are fresh and available through TFTestkits.net. Now that you have the test down pat, we suggest testing CYA every 30 days during swim season. That means you probably will have plenty left for next season, too.

SURE WISH THOSE REAGENTS HAD THEIR NAMES ON THEM, INSTEAD OF THEIR PRIVATE CODE. So glad I bought that kit, worth every cent, but I suspect the reagents can be bought elsewhere more conveniently.

Yeah, I have tested a lot to get the process down. It's good to know it can be tested monthly instead.

I can testify a lot of them on Amazon are old and close to expiring.
You can also buy them at a pool store, just don’t take a water sample in or that $6 bottle might end up costing you $250 😝

Sorry, Wizard, but that's not a private code. The reagents are Taylor reagents and have the identical name.

As for CYA lasting years and years........Perhaps but perhaps not. Using Reagents beyond their one year expiration date is usually OK but only up to a point.

Saving a couple of dollars and overdosing or under dosing your pool (which could cost A LOT MORE) because your test results were erroneous is penny wise and pound foolish

Everything I've read (including this recent post of yours) says that the R-0013 CYA reagent is among the most stable and lasts for years without degrading.

Plus, even the 32-oz size isn't THAT many tests: one per week for a year with the regular CYA tube, or twice as many with the small tube.

I have had reasonable success buying refill reagents from Amazon, usually with at least a year's dating left. One complaint I have about the tftestkits reagents is that they are not dated, so while I'm sure they are reasonably fresh when purchased, there isn't any way to really verify that.

If you do buy the 32 oz bottle of R-0013, keep the TF-100 bottle and refill it from the big one as the snap top is much easier to use.
