How to partially cover pool? Squirrels are driving me crazy

I don't know what kind of tree this is, but the squirrels climb, chew, and spit everything into this section of the pool.
Please help! Any ideas!

I just realizes that most of the squirrel debris fall straight to the bottom. Is the Betta still the right solution?

Then you need a more traditional robot vacuum. Lots of threads about lots of different options.

Trim the tree at least 5 feet back from the pool edge. This will also help with debris falling form the tree without the squirrel's help. Leaf drop will be another issue soon enough.
