We have a 2003 Sundance Bahia and live in Indiana. Every winter (typically on one of the coldest days) the breaker to the hot tub trips and we loose power to the hot tub and just the hot tub. We have no idea why this happens. The tub turns back on when we reset the breaker and we haven't figured out what is tripping it - it never does this in the summer, only in the winter. The problem we have is we typically don't use the tub on the coldest days so we don't notice that it lost power until we think to go check on it. We've been lucky up until this last winter that we could get it back on before it froze up. This last winter we didn't realize it lost power for over a week and a couple of the hoses froze busting the flow sensor and the 2 stage pump. Luckily there was no other major damage and we were able to get it back up and running.
Does anyone know of a sensor that can be installed that will notify us when the tub doesn't have power (the rest of the house doesn't loose power, its just the tub). Either something I can install on the tub itself (tying into the power going to the tub) or in the breaker box. Something that would send a text message would be great but even something just as simple as a small LED light that turns off that we will notice isn't glowing (the tub is just outside our bedroom window but with the cover one we can't see the control panel lights).
I've seen water sensors, sump pump sensors, and plug in sensors but haven't found anything that I think will work. Anyone else have an issue like this and found a solution? Thanks!
