Hi,

I'm on the hunt for a leak in my pool which is losing an inch per day. I have a dual main drain and when i put dye over one of the drains it gets sucked up, but I think it may be coming out the other drain. What is the best way to ensure that the main drain test is accurate ?

Remove the drain covers and put a plug in one side.

Z,

I have found that using dye to find a leak is almost useless...

What makes you think it is a main drain issue at all?

The best way to find a leak is to just let it drain down until it stops.

It should stop right below the skimmer, or right below your returns, or right below you light.

You really only have one Main Drain.. that is connected to two different drain pots... Water (dye) moving between the two drain covers would make sense to me.

Thanks,

Jim R.
