How to convert my baqua pool to chlorine

I would keep your FC up around 10 ppm or so for another 24 hours, trying to get that cc result to .5 ppm or less.

I would then perform the OCLT to see if you still have some remaining baqua goo to clear up.

If you pass the OCLT, you would be fine to change out the sand and then get your CYA in the pool

Resist the temptation to let your chlorine get too low. I have a feeling you have a bit more organics to clear from your pool

Added 242 oz bleach tonight. Thanks for the advice duraleigh. I'm not sure what OCLT means, sorry. Also, I'm wondering if I should be adding bleach during the afternoon. Most of what I've read says night and early morning because of rapid burn off in afternoon. Pool looks great and there is no color change when adding bleach and no goo coming through when I backwash.

If you keep going over on your chemicals odds would say you have a smaller pool than you think.

Are you sure your pool has 17k gallons??

My 20'x4' pool if calculated by that exact volume is 9,400 gal. If I measure it, it really is 20' in diameter, but at it's highest water level is 3'6". That equates to 8,200 gal. Not really much if you work out the math. If I were to add 100oz of 8% bleach to the theoretical 9,400 gal, but in reality it's 8,200 gal, I'm only adding 1ppm extra than expected.
