My 18,000 gallons pool is re-plastered, and 1st go with SWG Circupool RJ45 (on sale).
RJ45 chemistry water level:
FC 1.0 - 3.0 ppm
Salinity 3000 - 4000 ppm
pH 7.2 - 7.8
Total Alkalinity 100 - 200 ppm
Calcium Hardness 200 - 400 ppm
Stabilizer (Cyanuric Acid) 50 - 75 ppm
Saturation Index -0.2 to +0.2
With the PoolMath, I will know the quantities to add to get to target:
1) Do I need to test the fresh new water ?
2) Do I throw all stuff at once or is any sequential steps which I need to follow in order to balance the new water level?
3)CH which large amount to add on, kind of expensive, any CH substitute ?

Thank you in advance

 Welcome to TFP!!!

Yes you need to test the water. What test kit do you have?

I would not recommend following some of those parameter ranges. (Especially the low FC and the high TA). Check out Pool School for the levels we recommend.

Thanks for quick reply.
jblizzle :My pool will be done next week. Ordered TF-100 test kit and Taylor K-1766. What range level which you recommend ?
Copied from Pool School:
FC 4-6 ppm
PH 7.2-7.8
TA 60-80
CH 50-300 for vinyl (Do Not Add)
220-320 for fiberglass
350-450 for plaster
CYA 70-80
Salt 200-400 ppm ABOVE recommended optimum level
Borates 30-50 ppm (optional)

BasicTek:How do I know it is the right one? Do they need to be dissolved in the water bucket before fill into the pool?
