How soon can I check chlorine levels?

After adding the amount of bleach required for the day based on test results, how soon after can I check the chlorine levels to see how effective it is?
Also, when is the best time to check and add chlorine? Morning or afternoon?

Usually after 15 minute you'll get an accurate measurement. When I add things and want them mixed quicker I also turn the pump up on high for 15 minutes, then check.

Check and add anytime as long as you do it fairly consistently at that time.

A vigourous brushing will also help to disperse the chlorine.
