That made me chuckle.Twice daily at minimum. But I am coming off a 2.5 week SLAM that ended with a drain/refill. So I have a little bit of PTSD.![]()
I don’t think it is directly related to the way a pool is chlorinated. I believe it is a consequence of understanding the chlorine demand of ones pool under different conditions during the pool season and the actions they take.Notice the pattern. SWG = Once or twice a week. Liquid Chlorine = daily.
I test FC and pH once a week unless I am adjusting a chemical level. I test CYA, CH, TA once or twice a month. Salt I use the readout from the SWG.
With the hot weather we've been having in KY, I find myself adding a little in the morning, and enough to boost to around 7-9ppm at night, which lasts throughout the next day with the little boost in the morning.I run at the upper end because I still fear mustard algae. But I do know some people who just dump in X quarts of liquid chlorine everyday and test once a week. That is not far off from the SWG people. On Quora, a pool cleaner guy said they dump in enough liquid chlorine to last a week! That seems crazy!
