How much sand needed for the Cristal-Flo II 145362

I read that the sand in a sand filter should be replaced every 3-5 years. My filter is about 9 years old, and I've never replaced the sand so I'm assuming it's time to do it. Although I have read others saying sand shouldn't have to be replaced.

Anyway, I'm having trouble finding something that explicitly says "add this much sand to the Cristal-Flo II 145362." See the label image below. For those of you more versed in dealing with these things, does the "300 lbs" indicate that this needs 300 lbs of sand? Or is that some other measurement? The manual wasn't as helpful as I'd hoped. Thanks.

Sand in sand filter should never need to be changed unless you run pool store potions through it.

And yes, the 300 lbs means you need that much proper pool filter sand to fill it when empty.
