How Much Liquid Chlorine (10%) can I add to my Pool at One Time?

I'm going on a vacation. I plan to shock my pool to 11ppm from where it is now so that the CL will not drift too low while I'm gone. The Pool Calculator says I need to add 169 oz. to raise the CL level to 11. Can I do this all at one time, or do I need to do it over a couple of days?

What is your CYA? You can add liquid chlorine to your shock level based on CYA [FC/CYA][/FC/CYA].

All at once just before you leave.

if the goal is to run it up before a vacation add it the morning you leave

Its only a little more than a gallon

Make sure your CYA is right to keep the CL level more stable
