Looking to replace my old defunct pump with a newer one. However, I cannot tell from the label how many horsepowers this pump is. My pool has a volume of 14,000 gallons with two water fountains. Any suggestions?
It is 1H or 1.5HP. It does matter which. You need to get a variable speed pump of at least 1.5HP. Although a larger HP pump will be quieter and more energy efficient.
Thanks for the information. I think I will get a variable speed pump - close to 2HP.
As for automation, I have a PLC controlling ON/OFF on a schedule - that's about it. I do hope to be able to control the speed on my new pump using external relay controls. It appears Hayward and Pentair both have such capability.
