I have a Paramount IFCS that I am waiting for a valve o-ring for but I can't turn the pump on until I can install it. Amazon is supposed to deliver it tomorrow but sometimes they don't get here until the evening. Without knowing what time it'll arrive, the pump will likely have been off for two days straight.

I had opened the valve to check if the module needed replacing because it hasn't been cycling properly, but when I went to put the cover back on, the o ring wouldn't fit - it looked like it had stretched out. I have called all the pool supply companies within an hour's drive from me (except Leslie's who wouldn't answer the phone), and no one carries it.

Is there anything I should do in the meantime to prevent issues? My water balance was great when I checked it yesterday, water is clear.

Edited to add: I also am curious if there is anything particular I should pay attention to when I am able to start the pump up again after installing the new o-ring. The pump ran for 30 minutes this morning without the valve cover on before I realized the automatic timer hadn't been disabled like I thought it was. I'm trying not to freak out that I just irreparably Hecked up my system

Pour 5 ppm of liquid chlorine into your pool daily and stir the water with your pool brush.

With daily chlorine additions your pump can be off indefinitely.

Thank you! Sorry for the basic question, but how do I calculate how much chlorine to add? I'm really new to the pool game and the learning curve hasn't brought me beyond the pool math app yet!

1 gallon of 10% liquid chlorine in your 28k pool will raise your FC by 3.6.

So add a gallon and a half or so per day. Three gallons every 2 days.

thank you so much - that's super helpful. Am I looking to raise/keep the FC to 5ppm? It tested at 6ppm yesterday. It's high bc I am still tinkering with the SWG after installing a new cell a few weeks ago.

Following the Liquid Chlorine chart.

If your CYA is 70 you want your FC to be 8-10.
