how long will fill water last without chemicals

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!
Thursday: Changed liner
Friday: started filled pool
Saturday: still filling pool (water on slow because we had lots of commitments going on)
Sunday:

Finished filling found leak in return piping

drained down fixed leak(so we hoped)

refilled​

Monday: (today)

refilled started pump still leaking
AS OF NOW I HAVE NOT ADDED ANY CHEMICALS
Question: Should I drain down fix leak and add chemicals or
should I add chemicals run a while before draining 4 or 5 inches of water to fix leak​

In your area, I would suggest adding some chlorine to the water before you drain down again. Just 3 ppm FC worth. May not be needed, but good insurance.
