I did not...Priming happened automatically with the Hayward.Did you prime it and make sure that the lid was sealed?
Put water into the pump basket area.
You only need to do this the first time.
I’ll have to double-check tomorrow, not enough light out there, at this time.Does water leak out of the bottom of the pump when you add water to the basket area?
Maybe the impeller threads were damaged when you initially tried to remove the motor?
Do you mean the big blue o-ring pictured below that the arrow is pointing to, which I replaced?Maybe the seal was installed incorrectly?
Both parts of seal seemed to go on without issue. Would I see a leak if installed incorrectly?
Probably.Would I see a leak if installed incorrectly?
After further review…Does water leak out of the bottom of the pump when you add water to the basket area?
Thanks!Maybe the impeller is damaged or maybe the seal was installed incorrectly.
Different pumps have different seals and the seals install differently on different pumps.
The videos were for different pumps, so some of the process is the same, but the seal installation might be different.
I would take it back apart, check the impeller and replace the seal.
Did you take pictures of the seal orientation during disassembly?
10. Press the spring seal assembly onto the motor shaft, with the black polished surface facing the ceramic seat.
