How do you hook up a Shop Vac to a pump?

Want to winterize my pool but the only way I’ve seen it done is watching professionals blow air into the pump which goes out to the jets, main, and skimmer. Want to do it myself and I’ve heard a Shop Vac is the way to go, but how do I hook a Shop Vac hose up to the pump?

Pull the pump and the last union before the returns and duct tape the hose to the pipes as seen here.

There isn’t some sort of adaptor for connecting it?

There's too many pump lids out there. Personally as you saw in the linked thread, I prefer to pop the 1st and last union at the pad and blow each leg individually. Then you only need tape. I bring my equipment inside but you could easily reassemble it empty.

Or. With your simple plumbing, it should blow the whole thing from the skimmer.
