How do I know if the SWG is working?

Not to try and derail everyone, but to verify, did you verify that your flow switch was closed? As far as I’ve been able to tell, with the Omni’s setup, there isn’t a way to read if the flow switch is open or closed aside from getting an unreliable (time wise) notification of no flow? We had this issue recently and it ended up being flow switch issue.

I was able to get into Service Mode. I found that the flow sensor was set to the water temp sensor. Once I switched it to the flow sensor, it worked but it only works in Service Mode. Once I exit Service Mode, the cell current reads 0 and the polarity shows OFF.

Can you give us some history of the pool and equipment?

When was the equipment installed?

Can you show the equipment?

Do you have chemistry automation like pH or ORP?

When was the system working correctly?

Do you normally manage the pool or do you have a service?
This is a new pool, 4 months old. I do not have any chemistry automation.

The pool was working fine then 3 weeks ago we had a bad thunderstorm. The pool company had to come out and change the board. A week after that I noticed a very green pool. My assumption is when the new board was installed the guy made a mistake and set the wrong sensor for the flow sensor.

I manage the pool myself.

This shows the correct cell type.

The current is close to 8.0 amps, which might be causing problems if the amperage is hitting 8.0 amps.

You need to lower the salinity to keep the amps below 7.0.

The Cell Maintenance Timer is showing 00.00 hours of Runtime, which indicates zero operation or maybe the Cell Maintenance Timer has been reset.

Reset Cell Maintenance Timer - To maintain maximum performance, it is recommended that you open and visually inspect the chlorinator cell every 3 months or after cleaning your filter.

The OmniPL will remind you to do this by displaying a message to clean and inspect the cell after approximately500 hours of operation. You can restart the timer by touching this button.

In Service Mode, you can access the general system diagnostic Information.

You can check System Information, do a Factory Reset and Upgrade the firmware if necessary.

Diag Info - This option accesses the OmniPL’s diagnostic information.

Sysinfo View current firmware versions for OmniPL components.

Factory Reset Deletes all existing configuration and settings.

Firmware Upgrade The OmniPL’s firmware is the basic operating system that runs the unit.

The OmniPL was shipped with the version of firmware that was available at the time of release.

There may be a newer version available and if so, we encourage you to upgrade.

Also, if you have experienced problems, Hayward Technical Support may advise you to upgrade your OmniPL firmware.

To upgrade your firmware:

1. Determine your current MSP firmware version using the Sysinfo button.

Using an ordinary web browser, go to www.hayward.com/firmware and compare the latest available version on the web to the current firmware version.

If the firmware version on the web is greater (number is larger) than your current version, upgrade your OmniPL’s firmware.

Can you explain this better?

Why is the builder not fixing this for you?

Maybe a configuration issue.

Can you go through the Configuration?

Can you check Diagnostics?
In the service mode, when you select sensors and set the "location" the Flow Sensor setting was set to read the Water Temp sensor. When I changed it to read the actual flow sensor I finally got cell current to show something other then 0 and polarity to show K1.

The pool company takes forever to get out to my location so I was hesitant to call. I also like doing things myself so that played into me not wanting to call.
Where is the flow switch?

Can you show the Chlorinator Control Screen?

This manual shows the Configuration.

You might have to go through the Configuration to see if everything is correct.

Physially the flow switch a couple of inches after the TurboCellS325
See if there is a Schedule Set for the Chlorinator.

Is the Chlorinator Enabled?

What is the Pump Speed?

What is the Percentage Setting?

I turned off the schedule for the chlorinator.
The chlorinator was set to 100% and enabled. I also tried Super Chlorinate.
The pump speed is on MED. 75%

I did to a firmware upgrade last week.
