How do I get the right Borate?

I'm on the west coast so shipping is an issue. We have chemical suppliers locally in Sacramento county. Duda is in Alabama.
Not being a chemist, how do I make sure I buy the right thing?

Take the Duda specifications to local chemical supplies and ask to see the MSDS of what they have and compare it.

I would just buy it at Duda and pay the shipping.

I think I'll do that. Pool math (old manual one) showed around 35 lbs for a 14,000 pool. Does that sound about right?

PM app says 35 lbs of Boric Acid will raise BOR by 52 ppm.

Try to find granular boric acid rather than powdered. Much easier to get into the pool.

I added 20 lbs to a ~9k gallon pool to get around 60 PPM via test strips. That sounds right.

I finally got through to Sierra Chemical in West Sacramento. Granulated Boric Acid 50 lbs bags @ $3.26 a pound.
Duda Diesel is ~ $1.70 a pound, plus shipping. I asked for a shipping quote but didn't get it.
In the good news, possibly due the way I manage my pool water in the winter, I'm still at 55 per test strips. So I may just do it the borax way.
