This reminds me of how I use to love the smell of cigarette smoke right after my many attempt of quitting smoking. Now that I've quit for over 5 years, I can't stand to be around it.
Honestly this is what hurts most about not hitting the pool store every week. People think it would be hard to work at a pizza joint because of the constant smell... for me, a pool store would be worse. I still buy salt there, if nothing else. Just don't need much of it unfortunately.
You have literally described a pool shed potty. You could put some 'organic' material (use your imagination) in a bucket and put some diluted bleach in with it. Just replenish every once in a while. Leave bucket near where you want smell.
Odd thread! But I have to say I've often wondered if I am just the sumperman of senses because I often smell the chlorine when I get out of my pool, and my eyes burn/turn red even with proper levels. And it seems like it is just me that smells it or has problems with any sensitivities. However, I am often jumping in the pool to cool off after I have been in the yard sweating like a pig doing whatever chore the day has me doing. I am realizing the sweat probably has a lot to do with that. I've been protecting my eyes with systane eye drops and that seems to help. I can live with the chlorine smell though, as it is better than the sweat/bo smell I'd otherwise be sporting.
I've been through multiple threads round and round with this question and many others like it. I really think it's just my eyes, as no one on this forum has been able to find any problems. Perhaps an overuse of Clear Eyes over the last decade or so. I don't know. I do have really good sense of smell and taste as well. What's your ph? I alway swim underwater with my eyes open. I've notice when my ph is 7.7-7.8 my eyes start burning. My TA is down to 50 now, so I don't think I'll have to worry about 7.8 ph anymore. It's rock solid at 7.2, and I just added borates. I don't think it'll ever move now.
