Hotspot FPH pool heater install

I have a new theory of what might be going on...

I noticed on my system, that after running in air cooled mode for a while, the line that goes through the NC solenoid and bleeds the normal condenser is frosty, which I wouldn't expect since that solenoid should be closed. And when shutting off the system, I can actually hear and feel refrigerant moving through that line. So I seem to have a bad solenoid valve that's stuck open. I'll have it replaced as soon as I can and see how things do after that.

It's good you found a potential cause. I just went back and compared your installation photos to mine though and I have a question. What is this connection, marked with the green arrow? I think that's an extra connection that I didn't have, so I'm curious where it goes.

That's an over or under pressure sensor which was on the AC system when it was new, and wasn't part of the FPH install.
