We just opened our SWG pool in last few weeks and awaiting the full concrete pad completion (apron just recently completed).

The hot tub is by Strong Spas (G-2 Diamond 36 jet with lounger). Have not researched further on the sanitizer system other than can use chlorine or bromine. We were opting for bromine since it's more stable in higher temps (plan on 100 to 105 tub temperature)... and we will use the hot tub in winter after the pool is closed.

Anyone with experience on the Strong Spas and the sanition system? Does this impact the chlorine or bromine preference? Any reason to use chlorine over bromine?

And lastly, is there any issue with bathing suit/bather cross-contamination going back and forth from hot tub to pool... especially if utilize bromine in hot tub. Yes... aware the SWG is still a chlorine pool. And if use bromine in hot tub, does this have any impact on testing FC/CC in the pool? Impact of salt contamination to hot tub? CYA concerns?

Or am I concerned about something that's not really an issue and should just use bromine and enjoy going from hot to cold and cold to hot?

Decision made and got great deal on a Jacuzzi tub. Will not be using SWG add-on.

So this goes back to using chlorine or bromine. As mentioned, our pool is sanitized by SWG.

Can I safely use bromine in hot tub without any risk of cross contamination?

I believe that going from bromine hot tub to pool will turn you pool into a bromine pool eventually.
Thank you for opinion. Open to further discussion. Still opting for chlorine but hoping others can chime in from experience.

I'm NOOB in hot tub and pool realm... so I have a double whammy with learning curve.

I've had a pool and tub for 3 years now and I use chlorine for the tub since all the chems are the same. I also use aqua clarity every week. I supposedly have a uv light but have no issues holding chlorine. We usually just use a splash of chlorine after using tub or every 3rd day if not using it. I basically follow this

I can't speak to the bromine question though.

Thank you for the link... bookmarked for future reference.

Also added the Aqua Clarity to my watch list on Amazon. List is expanding and at some point will look for opinions. Configured PoolMath in prep and may opt for as simple solution as 10% liquid chlorine for maint/SLAM... and maybe Renew. I'll likely avoid anything with Dichlor... and Tick off dealer, but oh well (they are suggesting granulated chlorine for maint... and they are a subsidiary of Leslie's so that is under consideration to NOT listen... LOL).

I have used dichlor on a fresh fill to get 20 to 30ppm of cya in the tub and then switch to chlorine. I would also use some monthly to bump up the cya as I seem to lose about 10ppm a month. I ran out of dichlor and have a large bucket of cya so I just use that now.

Good to know
