Holiday pucks

Hi I currently use the bleach method (switched after Ahhsome flush and refill) for sanitising and I wanted to check what is best to use for if I go away on holiday for up to 15days (could be shorter but max is 15days). Note having a neighbour bleach is not an option.

I have read various posts on tfp that suggest using trichlor/dichlor pucks but I am concerned about the CYA increase. My SwimSpa is covered so there is no concern re sunlight. Current test results:
FC 5.8
CYA 41
PH 7.5
TA 84
CH 215
Temp 32
Logged on the Pool Math app (which I would highly recommend!).

Instead of trichlor/dichlor pucks can I use either of the following:

1) over sanitise with bleach before leaving? Current FC loss over a day is <1ppm. So I’d need c. 20ppm (including ideal 5ppm level to be maintained when I get back) if I wanted it to last for the 15days. What would be the issue of bleaching to that level?

2) calhypo tablets (eghttps://swimmingpoolchemicals.co.uk/10g-calcium-hypochlorite-pellets-5kg.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIvo2OyIKJ7QIVo4BQBh3uow_9EAQYAyABEgLcRfD_BwE)? my SwimSpa has an inline feeder that I haven’t used for anything since switching to bleach. Given my OK CH level I’m happy with the small increase in CH the tablets would cause. Looking at ‘effects of adding chemicals’ there doesn’t seem to be any other side effects?

Would lowering the SwimSpa temperature also reduce FC usage?

many thanks as ever for your help

Paul

Here's me - I use bleach 70% of the time... but we travel a lot. Our caretakers aren't going to "TFP" test, so we try to make it simple.. I put pucks in and have them add DryTec (amazon) while we are gone (sometimes 4-5 weeks at a time). I get home, take readings then go back to bleach/ Muriatic Acid. It's just easier on our caretakers.

We use 12.5% liquid chlorine. When CYA drops to 30 or less, we use trichlor tabs in a floater for chlorination until it gets back to 40. CYA of 50 even is not a problem, although you would need to run your FC a bit higher. The problem I have with an inline feeder--at least in our setup--is that the low speed we run our pump is not compatible with the tab feeder. The floater method has not been a problem, and we've used it for stretches of 2 weeks a couple times.
