Morning all!

New to the forum and ivyleaguer pointed me to this thread.

Best time of the year for a hockey fan. Minimum of 2 games to watch every night!!

Good show by the Preds last night. The wings looked lifeless. -and- yes, I agree, you guys got some bad calls in game 2.
Well, that game cost me points....I had the Wings sweeping.

What I want to know now is: who will drill Avery into the front row???

If they play the Pens, I would love to see George Laraque drive him into the Zamboni machine. :-D

The refs are handing the Pens everything.
Terrible call late in the 3rd results in a PP goal and a win.
I like the Penguins, but I don't like to see the game tarnished like they are going to if this Crud continues.
Well, to say the refs suck this post season I do believe is a supreme understatement. However, that's what you get when you throw different guys together, instead of working a the refs as a crew, the way the NBA, NFL all do. Why Brad Watson is still a top tier referee is beyond me. He must have photo's of some executive. At least Mick McGeugh is done after this year.

Thank god, Kerry Frazier is another one I can't stand.

"Have another donut Don!!"

Refs are inconsistent. "Everyone" wants Pittsburgh to make it to the finals (makes the commercials justifiable).

Where is the hitting? Detroit and Colorado look like they are trying to avoid hitting each other. Not alot in the other series as well. Haven't caught Dal-SJ, maybe that one is physical?

Can you tell me how Dal-SJ is at 7:30 tonight (4:30 SJ time) and Det-Col is at 10? Stupid TV ratings!!

Enough rant... GO WINGS!!!

Yes, go wings!!!!! I have them taking this next round. Looks like that may indeed occur. Have no idea what happened to my West pick SanJose. I do think they are gripping the sticks a bit too tight. Way too tenative and lacking any physicality at all. Dallas is picking them off one by one. But, that's why they play 7 games. Pittsburgh is actually playing pretty good hockey, with or without the calls. Jeez Louise! I had the Rangers taking the East and playing San Jose in the finals.

Also, even though I'm no Philly fan (I'm used to calling them the F-ers), they sure are great story. Went from last place in whole league last year to 2nd round playoff contenders. Even as bad as they were last year, they ranked 7th in the league in overall attendance. WOW!! Some fans.

I know, its very exciting for us in Dallas who have followed them since the mid 90's, honestly they haven't looked this good since they won the cup in '99.

I'm just hoping by the next round, if we get there, my wifes vendors who have tickets invite us back...they're seats are ON THE ICE...amazing seats.

During the intermission of the Rangers-Pens game they said there were 60 hits in the first period of the Dallas-SJ game. Wasn't telivised here.... Bummer. Someone must hate Dallas or SJ to make them play back-to-back!

Wings-Dallas would mean all games would start 7-8 timeframe. YAAAAYYYYY!

An all Pennsylvania Conference final. :-D :-D :-D

Alright all you Eastern conference "Friends" Pens can use all the support we can get.

Yep, Go Penguins!!! Be ready for a battle. Or choking goalies. Both goalies are now further than they've ever been before. Biron only as a backup in Barffalo, and Fluery is a surprise for me this year. He is finally living up to the expectations. What was your W:L record against the F-er's this year?

Anyone stay up to watch the Avs/Sharks game last night? I made it as far as the end of the 3rd OT....2am. That was the best game I have seen the year, regular or playoffs. This may be Turco's year. If he doesn't turn into Swiss cheese.

I made it half-way thru the 3rd and had to go to bed. Go Stars!

3-5 against the Flyers, but the last game of the season was more of a play healthy rather than for a win.

Turco & Nabokov were incredible with some of the saves last night, I made it until the 3rd OT, shut my eyes during a commercial and woke up when the alarm went off.

Like to see them in the Final, but I don't think Detroit can be stopped by anyone.

ps: please prove me wrong!!!

Detroit can be stopped by high shot totals, and aggressive forwards moving to the middle. Detroit (eg Chelios, Lidstrom, et al) are near perfect at keeping the shots from getting to the net, AND the shots that do get thru are generally from bad angles. I think both Philly and Pittsburgh, with their size, would be able to do this. Pittsburgh, with more skill, would be able to do it better.

If Detroit can get past Dallas, I would prefer they play the Pens. It would be a track meet and fun to watch! Plus, Detroit favors the less physical style of play *not happy about this, but it's true*

Less physical, do to osteoporosis, If Chelios would try to hit someone he might break a hip.

uhm....GO STARS!

I was actually at game 6, one of my wife's vendors had one extra ticket, we're all good friends and he knew I would appreciate it probably more than anyone else.

Oh, and it was ON THE ICE! One of the best sports memories I think I'll ever have! We were in section 116, row 1, I was in seat 2...if anyone watched the game I was 1 seat away when the glass broke out of the visitors entry way. My hands are still sore from banging on the glass...and yes, heck yes, I stayed till 1:30am to watch the Stars WIN!

I know Turco doesn't have a good record at Detroit but he had also never won an overtime play off game till Sunday night...oh, and stop 61 SHOTS ON GOAL!

I still get chills thinking about how Dang lucky I was to be there and the seat I was in...probably always will...

If anyone is in Dallas, down at the AAC and Victory park we're doing watching parties for the away games, we'll have the game on the large AAC screen and the two 31x53' HD screens I run...I'll be there :D

Well, you beat me. I stayed up until 2am here in North Carolina and finally went to bed after the 3rd OT was over. That was one of the best games I have seen this year, playoffs or regular season. Turco is pleasantly surprising me this post season. I have the NHL Center Ice package and have seen Turco play often, and he can be streaky. He sure deserves a good post season. I just love it when he is miked during the All Star games. He's a hoot!

I know what you mean about being at memorable games. I watched our Carolina Hurricanes win The Cup on home ice, Game seven. We did not sit down.

The next best thing would be for THE CUBS to win!!!!!

Enjoy your postseason.
