High TA After New Liner Install

Hey all. We just had our liner replaced, and it looks great! But I let the pool folks do the initial balancing for me since it was "part of the deal". I've been balancing my own chemistry based on TFP for several years, so I've never used the pool store recommendations. Everything looks fine to me at this point, except they jacked my TA up to 120. The optimal spot on this site is somewhere around 80.

Should I be concerned about it being 120? If so, what negatives might it have? I assume this will go down over time with evaporation and refilling, but I'm curious if I should be thinking about draining some out and refilling in order speed up the process.

As long as your pH isn't climbing too fast, no. No problem. Over time, with consistent muriatic acid dosages to control the pH, the TA will slowly fall on its own.

That may not help......what is the TA of your fill water?

It will slowly outgas anyway, but don't refill until you know the tA of the refill. I would leave it alone.
