High pressure in cartridge filter even after cleaning cartridges

Hello,

I have a cartridge filter for a 15000 gallon pool. Recently, the pressure has been very high, was at around 30PSI, took them out and cleaned them, noticed the manifold was broken, replaced it, and it was back at 22-23 PSI after cleaning of the cartridges (just with a hose). I have also noticed that the pool gets algae much quicker than it ever used to, so I am guessing that the pool is not flowing like it should be. What could be the cause of this problem. The cartridges were last replaced around 2 years ago, so I am not sure if I want to switch them out just yet. I also can barely run the vaccum around the pool because it isnt strong enough.

Even when the waterfall is run, it seems much weaker than it ever used to be. Any help would be appreciated since i live in Arizona, and the algae grows back really fast if not shocked almost daily.
Anyone have any ideas?

Algae is a chemistry problem, not a filter problem.

You need to follow the SLAM Process process to eliminate the algae and then maintain the correct FC level at all times for your CYA level according to the [FC/CYA][/FC/CYA].
We do not require daily "shocking".

Suggest you get the pool cleared up and the filters cleaned again and see if you still have a problem with the cartridges.

Hello!

Yea, the algae has been taken care of and I have shocked accordingly. But other than the algae, RIGHT after cleaning the cartridges, the pressure was still high. and i thought that if the water isn't moving as much as it should, algae grows faster? BUt ok sounds good. I have been reading pool school and plan on getting a kit soon.
