I am working on getting the pool opened and the pH is high - tested much brighter than the 8.2 on the gauge. I added 3 cups of MA per Pool Math to bring it to 7.4 and waited a little over 2 hours and tested again. Still much brighter than 8.2 on the gauge.
I know my kit is at least, if not slightly over, a year old. A new one is on the way along with the pH meter.
Is it possible that it was way over 8.2 and I still need to add more MA? Could the regents be old and showing a higher pH than is actual? Should I wait for the kit to arrive or go ahead and add more MA? Thanks!
