Hello from Winter Garden, FL.

I have new 14k pool, SWG is at 50%, was filled a month ago.

Looking for advice on high pH and if my TA and chlorine levels are too high.

I just got my test kit so was making adjustments off Leslie’s pool report.

1/14 readout:
Free Chlorine: .64
Total C: .64
pH: 8.6
TA: 56 (put in 2 lbs daily for 3 days, for a total of 6 pounds added per Leslie pool)
CH: 228
CYA: 5 (added 1 gallon liquid stabilizer)
Salt: 2400 (added 80 lbs salt)
Phosphates: 302

1/17 readout
Free Chlorine: 3.8
Total Chlorine: 4.11
CC via test kit - .5
pH: 8.6, test kit greater than 8.2
TA: 99, test kit 90
Calcium Hardness: 211
CYA: 27 ( added 1 gallon liquid stabilizer this morning), test kit 20
Salt: 3000 , test kit 3000

Pool math says to add 39 oz of muriatic acid. Should I do this and is my TA now too high?

Thank you for reading!

Welcome to the forum.
Just post the results from your test kit. We will not provide guidance based on pool store testing.

Welcome to TFP.

Your TA was probably fine before you added the 2lbs of whatever.

Leslie reports an adjusted alkalinity which is less than actual alkalinity. All TFP recommendations use actual alkalinity. Read TA - Further Reading

Lower your pH into the high 7’s and your TA will be fine.

Let's see results from your TF-Pro Salt test kit only - don't bother posting results from anywhere else.
