My wife wanted a small pool for our kid. It’s approximately 1600 gallons. My test was HIGH in iron from the water that it was filled with yesterday from the well. Today it’s as I expected and has turned brown. After reading multiple of the forums here. It seems I may have wasted and entire day hoping the metal removal will help.
It was recommended to not put anything else in the pool for 24hrs after treating with the metal out. I purchased some liquid chlorine and other granular chemicals to boost the other levels to recommend levels. I also got two new filters. I know this one’s going to be done for once it’s all said and done.
Any recommendations would be appreciated. I’ve never dealt with metal in pool water before or a system so small. I’m not even sure if the filter is good enough to make this look clear again.
Here are my test results:
FC: .3
pH: 6.9
ALK: 42
Cal:68
CYA: 5
Iron: 3.3

Here is just one example.
