The gallons could be off either in poolmath or the pool itself, you mismeasured the add, the neighbor tried to help out and dumped some powdered shock in……. What’s done is done.
Although worth pointing out for future use, the manufacturer rates your gallons as full to the brim and you are about 6 inches lower than that. Your less actual gallons will give you a higher add than expected if you don’t account for the loss.
Kill two birds with one stone and vac to waste if you can. The more that you get out that settled on the bottom the better.

It’s really subjective. Maybe it was 80 the whole time and last time you saw 70 and this time you saw 90. Good idea to make sure. Reuse the sample as many times as you need. Keep sucking it back and forth until you get 3 out of 5 that agree. Or 8 out of 10 if need be.
