High Chlorine After Shock

your pool will be crystal clear beyond belief, and sparkle like a diamond.
Want me to show him ? Ok. FINE. Because you insisted I'll post it again. I'm always happy to help like that. 😁

^^^^^ just a regular dude's pool who leaves plenty of wiggle room above minimum FC.

Hey Folks. So I got the kit and started the testing. Will post results soon. Im up to the CYA test but have a question. The instructions say to fill the “red-capped” CYA to the 7.5 ml line with pool water. My red capped CYA Bottle is just a clear plastic bottle, no ml readings on it. I can use something else to measure 7.5 ml but Im worried I may not be reading correctly so figured I’d ask. Here is the bottle I’m thinking has to be the one they are talking about.

Measure the length of the straight sides, split the distance and draw a line with a sharpie. Use the sharpie line and the top of the straight side at the shoulder for your two fill lines.

It just has to be a 50/50 pool water/reagent mix, with enough to fill the view tube.

Email tftestkits@gmail for a replacement. In the meantime, make a sample with 50/50 pool water and R0013.

Just draw the line half way up and use that volume (see my previous post). You need enough volume to fill the test vial.

The tf pro comes with a smaller CYA tube thingy that's 15ml or half the squirt bottle.

My old TF100 tube used the whole 30 ml.

So we either waste some supplies for a couple days or do a line at 25% and 50% for the 50/50 mix.

Ok, here are the results!

PH - 7.5
FC - 13.5
CC - .5
TA - 90
CYA - 65

I also attached here my cartridge. I take out and clean completely with hose every night. Also, a couple of pics of my pool water currently.IMG_2901.jpegIMG_2897.jpegIMG_2898.jpegIMG_2896.jpeg

Yup. Your FC free and clear above minimum will stop the algae from getting worse in the meantime.
Actually 2 questions for tonight. I just realized I only have Clorox PH down on hand right now. Should I use this or try and pick up MA after work tokorrow night and do it then? Also, the last chlorine I added was 5pm last night. Should I add 5ppm of chlorine tonight like I’ve been doing or stop until after the PH comes down?

& get those steps out - scrub them inside & out - blast them with chlorine in all their nooks & crannies! Some have had luck with a pressure washer in the tubes/steps.
If they are filled with sand where water can enter - dump it out & get/make external sealed weights.
Let us know what you find but most steps/ladders are algae city ground zero.

I hear you. I took them over the weekend and cleaned inside the stair rails which gets algae inside. Thanks!

Use MA. Dry acid adds sulfates which are a no no.

At 13.5 FC you are plenty above min, even after tomorrow's loss. You can take the night off from chlorine.

It takes 15 mins of mixing after adding MA to lower Ph. Confirm it worked and commence SLAM.
I see Lowes has MA in 1 gallon buckets. I have no clue how much would I end up needing to bring Ph down 7.5 to 7.2?
