High Calcium Hardness

For the chlorine these are the values at the end of the day....so I started the day with 8ppm, it dropped then I added more chlorine to get back to 8.

I did the in-between value when a color started to change between 7 and 8 drops for the TA. Next time I'll just keep at 70.

For TA, see step 5 of the instructions, you add drops until the color has completely changed to red/dark pink and then add another drop to see if it changes more, you keep adding drops until it does not change again, your result is the number when it stops changing minus 1. So, if it's red at 7 drops and you add an 8th drop and the color is the same then your result is 70.
Testing Total Alkalinity with the TF-100 - YouTube This is the TF100, but the color change result is the same for the K2006.

Keep in mind, if you keep dropping below your minimum FC, you may want to consider changing up your dosing, so that you don't end up with an algae issue.

Calcium Reducer-Doheny's Pool Supplies Fast

Any chance it works?

It does not REMOVE the calcium from your water, it binds it to prevent it from plating out on surfaces. You must keep up with the maintenance doses for it to work, until it no longer does because your calcium in the water gets high enough to overwhelm it.

It is a band aid in place of managing your CSI and water chemistry.

When testing my hardness,I'm noticing after titrating, the reagent starts to coagulate. Why is that?

So when the pool place was doing my water sample this past week they mentioned that it happened to them but I hadn't noticed it before and he was telling me it clumps bc of metals in the water.

So when I got home I performed the test as well and got the same thing. After you stop swirling, the reagents coagulate or clump together, much like the thread you posted with the TF100. However mine was only occurring after adding the R-012 drops.

So it looks like I have a cooper problem....which I bet are those darkens spots that were randomly showing up in my pool.

I would check that assumption with some of our metal experts on this forum before you move ahead.

Our resident expert, Swampwoman, is out until next week. So PM her next week and she can provide you some guidance.

Take care.

With these heavy rains, looks like my TH lowered to 475ppm. I tested my fill water and its at 125ppm of TH.
Hi JarCar, I am new to this thread, not sure if this will work, but I have a suggestion which Richard suggested to me a few years ago and it worked for me when I was experiencing high calcium. He suggested filling up my pool with rainwater. I have gutters on my house so I directed one of the down spouts into the skimmer of my pool. Hope this helps:cheers:
