Would that not lead to inaccurate results? You can try 4 drops of PH reagent instead of 5 and see if it's then easier to read.

What strength MA are you using? Is there any reason my PH would raise from 7.8 to 8.0 AFTER a MA treatment? Should I do another treatment even if I just did one on Tuesday?
Nope. The shade of the sample is the important part. Mine always needs 4 drops to be back on the right color scheme.Would that not lead to inaccurate results?
20 Baume 31.45% MA. Tested 24 hours after adding. Yes, added in front of a return. What strength MA are you using?
How long after you added MA did you test? Wait at least 30 mins assuming it was added in-front of a return.
Circulate for a half hour and retest to ensure you reached target. High values may be higher than they appear if they're off scale. For example, an 8.4 may come down 0.4 as you dosed, but still be an 8. Or higher if it started higher. Tomorrow looks like no change if you don't confirm the Ph hit target.Tested 24 hours after adding.
It is best to test 30-45 mins after adding MA to determine if you got close to your target drop in pH. If you had any aeration then that offset some of your pH drop, plus your higher TA allows pH to increase, even over 24 hours. It is all getting to know your pool. There is no need to be overly concerned about every movement of the pH. Work on it over time and your TA will come down and help stabilize the pH.20 Baume 31.45% MA. Tested 24 hours after adding. I agree with JJ -- This is about the only time I use Tabs (once I learned)Welcome and looks like everyone has you covered.
Just a note on your 50lb bucket of tabs, they will not go bad and tabs are okay to use in TFP (sometimes) so no need to get rid of them. People get in trouble blindly using tabs as their sole source of chlorine and allowing their CYA to get way too high. You will have plenty of opportunities to use them over the next few years, including boosting your CYA when needed and when on vacation and not able to add liquid chlorine on a regular basis. My CYA is a bit low so I have 3 tabs in a floating dispenser in my pool currently.
Did you try my recommendations here:
Cleaning Crud off Fiberglass
Does anyone have any suggestions for getting sticky stuff off the exposed sides of our fiberglass pool? I believe it’s leftover from the install. Initial thought was a razer made but was worried I’d scratch the gel coat. Thank you!www.troublefreepool.com
I did not. I will try that today. For maintenance once it’s off; do I use Windex or some other chemical?
I learned this the hard way. The pucks outgas chlorine - especially in a hot garage. This chlorine gas will seriously damage even stainless steel. Golf clubs, tools, anything.Store puck container in a storage shed outside - not in a garage.
Don't use windex for "maintenance." Pool water should be fine. Also, is Goo Gone what you mean? I have that.

A little windex on a paper towel should remove any remnants of goo gone or goof off or WD-40. Goo gone should be fine, or WD-40.
Pool water and microfiber cloth would be fine...What do we use for maintenance?

I don’t have a shed. And if I did, I would keep things such as my shovels, rakes, and lawn equipment in there. Would those not get damaged there as well? It is extremely hot in Texas during the summer.
I just keep mine outside in a polyethylene storage box with no metal items inside. It probably depends on ventilation in the shed.
