Great service.
I am looking after my Sisters In-ground Pool which has a number of problems. Even the pool expert Lynette has contracted admits he has difficulty keeping it managed so for the moment I have asked him to stand aside whilst I get it sorted out as I am on extended leave. I've been looking after it for a year and a half now and so far I haven't even had a swim. I visit once a fortnight and often have to spend up to 4 hrs on maintenance. The Pool Guy visits once a month

Pool Details:
48,000L
Fibreglass In Ground
Guardian Industries
Installed 1998
2,1m at deep end, 1m at shallow end

Problems:
Leaves galore so bad that they have blocked up the house gutters and drainage system. The tree a huge Ficus (FIG) has just been removed so slowly getting on top of that. The roots were a foot thick and up to 10m long Typically I scoop out about 10L of leaves each visit.
Sand heaps of not from the sand filter.
MPV valve leaks at about 0.5L a minute (300L a day) into the pool backwash soakwell meaning constant pool water top ups.
Mortar seal between underside of coping tiles and fibreglass pool top is cracked out in many places and needs replace and is a major sand source. Rain, reticulation wash sand out from under pavers and into pool.
Pool soakwell is too small and overflows after a 2.5min backwash as it is less that 1000L capacity. Pool Guy says it should allow atleast a 5min backwash and is way too small for a 48000L pool.

Repairs:
Are being worked on an in hand however I am open to ideas anybody has about these.

MPV valve rebuid.
Reseal of coping tiles. Haven't decided on best material yet maybe MORTARFIL, SIKAFLEX, Expanded Foam or Remortaring with the original sand and cement mix or tiling over the gap.
Replacing soak well with much bigger.

Regards
Stuart
