Hello, Sean from Land O Lakes,FL (no the butter is not made here). I have a fiberglass (latham) 7k gallon pool and enclosure. It has been about 2 years now since we put our pool in and i started seeing a possible issue with the pool at the skim line and after draining about a foot of water in anticipation for a tropical storm that came through and dropped 12 inches of rain. It’s a white line and it’s smooth to touxh. When water hits the line it seems to vanish but once dry is there again. I have seen a lot of posts that this may be the gel coat fading or oxidation. I see no other discolorment underneath and it is still dark blue throughout. Im not always on top of my balancing of the pool but never have had any issues like this appear. Anyways hopefully my solution is not a horrible one. IMG_4293.jpeg

If it's at the waterline it could be calcium. What test kit do you use? Get a Taylor K2006c or a TF100 or TF100Pro (recommended). You need to test your calcium hardness. Otherwise it might be a line left from bather residue. From the test kit provide us with a complete set of test readings.

Thanks for the quick reply I’ll be honest I use the pooli app and some test strips. But I truthfully haven’t been testing 2-3 times weekly like I used to. I scrub that line with magic eraser, muriatic acid, and it will not go away. Smooth to the touch.
